A woman taking a shower inside her Andria Avenue residence was groped by a naked man who entered the shower and grabbed her from behind before she was able to fight him off, according to Somerset County Acting Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.
The woman called police after the attack at 10:18 p.m. April 14.
Taggart provided the following account:
Police met with the woman at her home. She reported being groped by an unknown male while taking a shower. Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit and detectives from the Hillsborough Police Department responded to investigate.
The victim was able to fight off the man, who fled the bathroom and exited the residence possibly through a screen door. The victim was not injured. She described her attacker as a Caucasian male, approximately 18 to 24 years old, with a thin build, short dark-colored hair, and no facial or body hair.
The victim was able to provide a description to the New Jersey State Police Forensic Imaging Unit. The composite sketch has been released by investigators in hopes of obtaining leads to the identity of the suspect. The public is urged to contact authorities if they believe they know the man. Police advise against making contact with the suspect.
